The mid-semester break started off well with an interview with a media advertising agency which turned out better than expected. Who said people in advertising are bitches? Or is it too early for that comment maybe? Hmm. Drinks and red meat with good friends always come best after business, or rather, uni affairs. And at this rate, old flames will be what they’re meant to be – old and tucked under the bed, where all the dusty memories go.

Haven’t shared an outfit post in a while. Here’s how I tried to mix friday business casual with friday night out with the girls.

This is my favourite picture of the bunch, and it is of the hotel we stayed at. I had a lot of blurry pictures, since I was using your regular point and shoot camera, taking night shots without flash requires super steady hands but it was freaking 0 degrees or less that night so it was quite impossible for my hands to stay still and I even had gloves on!

Mochi wanted to play pokies, but it was underage.

So I played on its behalf. Woohoo! And I think I won about $9 in like 2 minutes.

Partying in Vegas was fun. Nimonster have a close friend, AJ, who lives in Vegas, who also drives a bad ass car, who was kind enough to bring us around and even bring us out clubbing on Friday night.

On the way to the carpark from the club, we passed by the casino (you can’t walk anywhere without passing by pokies machine here in Vegas) and saw balloons of the dollar sign and I wanted to take one home. A lady who works there walked past so Nimonster asked if we could nick one and she was so nice she said “I didn’t see anything”. Ho ho so tadah I brought that back to the hotel. It deflated after 2 days, kind of like the current economy now. How ironic.

Dollar BEER AND HOTDOG. Only in Vegas babeh!

This year was different. Well, like every year, I try to avoid the fact that it’s my birthday. I accept wishes gracefully but always with a bit of a wince. You see, everytime someone wishes me those “Happy Birthday!” things I get reminded of how old I’m turning. 23 is not a nice number. I don’t make a big fuss about my birthday. I know people who have birthday week, where you guessed it, they celebrate their birthdays ALL WEEK. I didn’t mind working on my birthday, hey someone’s gotta pay the bills. After work was back to home, no big boozy night out since tomorrow’s another day of work. So after dinner, I decided to clean my bathroom – it was finally time to throw out those old make up and unused sample lotions and creams.

Cleaning is therapeutic. It makes one feel good that they’ve thrown away the old, de-clutter and made way for the new. Even though its only creams and lotions, it works on a higher level in life too okay. After cleaning the bathroom, I’m sitting in front of my computer in my daggy pajamas, coke-bottle glasses and pimple cream on my face (pimple cream sample found while de-cluttering the bathroom)… when Brandy started going nuts which only means someone’s at the door. I took two steps out of my room and I see JingWen’s FACE coming towards me. More people walked upstairs and I saw a cake box at the corner of my eyes.

WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON?!

This time I didn’t wince. Mainly cause I was still in shock. It was a really nice surprise and I really appreciated the effort guys! Especially Madcow Jingwen who organised everything.

The Strawberry cake was fantastic!
Thank god they only put 3 candles instead of the 23.

23 is not a nice number, but with friends like these, I think I can get used to the ideas of birthdays and its accompanying numbers, which unfortunately increases yearly.
