Romeo, take me somewhere we can be alone

It’s been a week of many changes. 2009 officially sucks. It can die and go to hell.

My cousin came for 10 days and went. How quick 10 days passed. I think Brandy will miss her a lot. She’s such an animal person. My cousin that is, not Brandy.

I brought my cousin to so many chocolate places. San Churro was one of the places we tried out together – milk chocolate and hot churros are TO DIE FOR.

Visited Dali’s exhibition with a couple of girlfriends. Exhibition was absolutely AH-mazing! Day out with the girls absolutely fun and just what I needed.

Over the week, I have also decided to further my study, and have just sent in my application for Master of Advertising at RMIT University. Jaclyn, please do not freak out. I’m still quite blasé about whether I get accepted or not. In the meantime, I’m happy just hanging around the house in my pajamas since work at Pearson ended. Workdays without work is better than having the weekend off after a long week of work.

I need a haircut. I might dye it jet black. I might pierce my tongue this week. I might go on a couple of dates too. I might do a lot of things. I like change, most of the time.

Why is the gingerbread man still smiling? I need to learn from him.

Chet Baker makes everything ok

Sundays without work are the best. Sleep ins. Baking. And the dysfunctional family. Tried the new double choc cappuccino cake recipe today. Little cakes are for Pei who’s turning a year older tomorrow. For her birthday pressie this year, I guess I’m giving her diabetes.

This is my dad and Brandy, fresh from their afternoon naps, and ready for a cup of tea and cake.

I love afternoon teas with the family.

That’s not a word!

Ahh, one of the few precious long weekends for us aussies. This time around was the Queen’s Birthday public hols. Had a few friends over for lunch/aft tea and board games. Mom made her famous curry puffs, chicken wings and coleslaw. I made bruschetta and tried out a new recipe – white chocolate macadamia nut muffins. It was a 3 step super easy recipe which turned out soooo gooood!

I did take pics of the food but they were crap so only this one of the scrabble board. How was your long weekend?

Friends and Pie

Sunday was my last attempt to meet up with friends before I leave, and what better way than to meet up and have PIE IN THE SKY at Mt Dandenong. Hmmm… pieeeee

Apparently in America, ‘pie’ refers to fruit pies, usually for dessert or breakfast or tea. Oh man, I’m gonna miss my MEAT pies… steak and mushroom… pieeee… bacon and onion…. pieee

Oh and I added purple streaks into my hair and now looks like this…

However, its been a week and its starting to fade. I think its the harsh, super high in UV sunlight of Austrlia cause only the those on top are fading fast. The worst thing is, its fading into silver so now I look like an old lady.. or rather a young lady with silver streaked hair.

=.=

Sheep Poo Tea

A while ago, I read Karen Cheng’s post about her encounter with strange looking ‘compressed balls of tea’ (Read about it here). I was intrigued. I love tea, though I still haven’t decided if I’m a tea or coffee person. I love my coffee too.

Anyways, those sheep poo-looking balls of tea turned out to be a kind of blossoming tea which well, blossoms in hot water! Take a look at its effect here.

I was at Chaddie the other weekend and decided to pop into T2 to see if they have these kinda blossoming tea. Not surprisingly, since they are a TEA SHOP, they do have them but only in small packets of 2 balls for $4 per packet. It was quite expensive but I decided to have a go anyways, in fact I bought a few more packets as *ah-cheap-em* Chrissie presents for friends. Here are some pictures of my own encounter with sheep-poo like tea…
