*&%^$#@?!

I am pissed I can’t donate blood. Why? Because my tattoo is less than 1 year old.

I have a list of things to do before I die, and have been working hard on crossing out those things for since 2008 because I know I can do those things and didn’t want to put it off any longer. And donating blood is one of those things I’ve been putting off and when I finally decide to do it, i can’t.

*&%^$#@?!

By the way, so sad about Michael Jackson. He’s such a legend. Just when you thought 2009 cannot get any worse, it just did.

S.H.O.E.S

Word of advice for all the ladies out there: DO NOT put a shopping ban on yourself. It is potentially a really bad idea. Why? Because when you let loose, you go crazy! I’m living proof. After 2 months of avoiding shopping centres and the shops, I decided to go shopping – mainly because I needed a pair of black boots. And holymotherofchristmas, I came home with 4 pairs of shoes and a pair of jeans (which I changed my mind about and am going to return it at the end of the week). Although one pair of shoe was $5 and another was $15, found the perfect black boots for almost half its original price, and 10% off this pair of sexy heels – it was still a lot of credit card damage.

End of tax year massive sales have begun and my cousin who’s coming from overseas wants me to bring her shopping while she’s here, somebody please cut up my credit card. kthxbye.

Children spinning around til they fall down down down

Work schedule has been flat out again. Bloody GAT marking project. Anyways, here are a few videos/songs that have been on repeat in my brain for the past 2 weeks:

Love how the song flows to the “So tell me what’s her name” part and also the trumpet solo.

I still got a piece of you under my skin, it’s always there no matter where I’ve been

This is a cute song sung in Manglish (Malaysian English) by Zee Avi (again), who’s Malaysian.

Do check out her songs and videos here. Honey Bee is another one of my favourites. :)

Chet Baker makes everything ok

Sundays without work are the best. Sleep ins. Baking. And the dysfunctional family. Tried the new double choc cappuccino cake recipe today. Little cakes are for Pei who’s turning a year older tomorrow. For her birthday pressie this year, I guess I’m giving her diabetes.

This is my dad and Brandy, fresh from their afternoon naps, and ready for a cup of tea and cake.

I love afternoon teas with the family.

It’s nice to be nice

Today at work, I helped out a bloke with his dead phone battery. He needed to call his friend to pick him up from work but his phone died mid call. He didn’t remember that friend’s phone number so I let him use reception’s phone to call another friend to get that other friend’s phone number – but to no avail. In the end, I realised we were using the same phone so I let him use my phone battery and viola, he got hold of his friend. He was so grateful he said thank you so many times before he left. I think he was really relieved he still had a ride home.

It felt good to be kind to a stranger.

I should clean my mirror.

That’s not a word!

Ahh, one of the few precious long weekends for us aussies. This time around was the Queen’s Birthday public hols. Had a few friends over for lunch/aft tea and board games. Mom made her famous curry puffs, chicken wings and coleslaw. I made bruschetta and tried out a new recipe – white chocolate macadamia nut muffins. It was a 3 step super easy recipe which turned out soooo gooood!

I did take pics of the food but they were crap so only this one of the scrabble board. How was your long weekend?
