Spot the Dog

If you are reading this then somehow I have managed to survive a 18 hour (including transit time) flight and arrived safely at LAX and have been recuperating from jet lag on xmas day, rather than the planned ‘celebrating an extra Christmas day’.

Today is Boxing Day, as the Aussies call it, and in Australia it is a public holiday, or rather, a super shopping day as almost every shopping centre will have massive sales. However, in America, there is no such thing as Boxing Day. :( AND IT IS NOT A PUBLIC HOLIDAY. (by the way, there you go, your first USA fun fact! – no boxing day sales in the US, booooo!)

Anyways, I am currently on my way to Las Vegas therefore this calls for another form of entertainment for you guys while I’m away… and this time it’s…

SPOT THE DOG!

Did you find Brandy?

Merry Christmas! Ho Ho Ho~

If you are reading this then somehow I have managed to pack, travel to the airport and board my plane at 11.35AM Melbourne time, all in less than 24 hours.

>.<

So while I’m away ‘celebrating’ Christmas on a musty Air New Zealand plane with a stranger next to me while I try my best not to ‘invade’ his/her seat space, here’s something to keep you entertained…

Oh, I just realised I’ll be arriving in LAX on XMAS DAY 10.30AM. Wow, time warp eh. Oh wells, means I get to have TWO Christmases. How special. :-D

Happy Holidays everyone!!!

Friends and Pie

Sunday was my last attempt to meet up with friends before I leave, and what better way than to meet up and have PIE IN THE SKY at Mt Dandenong. Hmmm… pieeeee

Apparently in America, ‘pie’ refers to fruit pies, usually for dessert or breakfast or tea. Oh man, I’m gonna miss my MEAT pies… steak and mushroom… pieeee… bacon and onion…. pieee

Oh and I added purple streaks into my hair and now looks like this…

However, its been a week and its starting to fade. I think its the harsh, super high in UV sunlight of Austrlia cause only the those on top are fading fast. The worst thing is, its fading into silver so now I look like an old lady.. or rather a young lady with silver streaked hair.

=.=

Nuffnang’s Chrissie Giveaway!

NUFFNANG is in Australia! Woohoooo!

Being a Malaysian blogger living in Australia, I have been secretly jealous of this blog advertising community because they were only in the South East Asian Regions and to think I could be part of it if I still lived in Malaysia *emo*. It wasn’t about the money, advertorials, events and parties that they bloggers get to attend (although sometimes those do sound pretty fun haha), it was more about the community of bloggers.

Nuffnang is Asia Pacific’s first and leading blog advertising community that links bloggers and advertisers, creating a community and network between bloggers in Malaysia, Singapore, Philippines and now AUSTRALIA. All this thanks to the entrepreneurial skills of Ming Shen Cheo and Timothy Tiah since 2006. Read about their story here.

Like I said before, the thing I like about Nuffnang is the community. It is definitely not just a blog advertising platform. What kind of community? Why duh, a blogging community – between bloggers and… more bloggers, bloggers and Nuffnang, and of course, bloggers and advertisers! Nuffnang puts in the effort to organise outings, networking sessions, affiliate programmes and sponsor blog-related and even charity events for the community.

All these sounds like fun?

Then join us at Nuffnang! Quick, click here! HERE.

Oh, and since it’s the holiday season, Nuffnang is having a Chrissie giveaway!!!

Hello?? Who doesn’t like FREE STUFF? EVERYBODY LOVES FREE STUFF.
and Raymond. heh.

So, it’s very easy, really. Let me lay it out for you eh:

  1. Join Nuffnang here.
  2. Write a post about Nuffnang (like what you’re reading right now) and be one of the lucky first 50 to win the $10 or THEE LUCKY ONE TO WIN A Dell™ Inspiron™ Mini 9.
  3. Err… there’s no step 3.

It’s THAT easy! Even cooking one of those microwavable lasagna things have more than 2 steps of instructions. For example:

  1. Take out plastic container from box.
  2. Use fork to puncture holes through plastic.
  3. Put in microwave for 8 – 10 mins.
  4. Let lasagne sit for a few minutes before removing plastic sheet. (Be careful, very hot!)

Ok, I totally just made up step 1 but you get my point and even without Step 1, cooking frozen lasagna is more complicated than winning $10 and a brand spanking new laptop!

Now, to the main point of this entry. WHY I WANT THE Dell™ Inspiron™ Mini 9. Ok, it’s not really the MAIN point of the post because I heart Nuffnang and it is really spreading the word about Nuffnang but I’m also quite desperate for the laptop please do not judge me kthxbye.

My sad story is that I used to have a beautiful Dell Laptop. And then it died, may it rest in peace. And since then I have been using my brother’s hand-me-down desktop which is quite old and have ‘died’ twice in the past 4 months although I managed to resurrect it and its sort of working fine now. As most of my readers know I will be travelling to the USA for my grand adventure in the States and it is quite impossible to bring the desktop with me.

So, a laptop will be nothing short of god send. Instead of heading to a BUNAC/IEP (the organisation ‘taking care’ of me while I’m overseas) office to use their computers, I will be able to blog from my room or even LIVE at say, Times Square on New Years Eve, or Mt Mammoth during snowboarding season. My friends, family and readers will be able to read about my little adventures almost right away and I dont have to worry about other IEP members finding my awkward pictures on the shared computer.

The laptop will also mean convenience for me hence the blogging will be frequent and if there is a lack of updates without notice, my friends and family can become suspicious of my wellbeing and alert Interpol or CIA or something like that to search for me – sorry a bit paranoid after the Brit Lapthorne, Aussie backpacker gone missing and later found dead incident.

ANYWAYS, my point is… join Nuffnang and our wonderful community NOW!

Amazing bloggers part of the Aussie blog community are:
1. My favourite Aussie blogger Karen Cheng – currently looking fabulously pregnant
2. My friend Loretta – who so happened graduated with a Master Degree today, congratulations girl!
3. The first Aussie blogger to write a post about Nuffnang Tina - she’s living my dream of having 5 kids LOL

This Christmas you don’t have to be nice for Santa, just be nice to Nuffnang!

The Pearson Gang

No more work for the rest of the year. Woohoo! I will miss Pearson and the ‘gang’ dearly. We will always share the awkwardness of trying to explain what our jobs as Professional Markers are to our other non-markers friends, only we can understand the determination and integrity needed to mark with the lethal combination of speed and accuracy, the sheer satisfaction of achieving 100% and that bright blue green rectangle box of an item, the frustration of Epen’s PMS days and adolescences’ dodgy ambiguous handwriting.

Winter will not be quite the same without the early mornings, incessant clicking of the mouse by 180 people in one room at the same time and lunch time complaints of how much we can’t stand marking (yet every year we unfailingly return to our dear Eniko’s side). This year, I had the luxury to do Reception duty other than marking and while others were clicking away their mouses, I had to answer/transfer calls, sort mail, make 35183956543 ID badges, yell at help people with scanning their ID badges when entering and leaving the building, organise couriers and the post, fold 557890989654853368643 payslips and of course, share tips/stories with Sharon and Pammy during those few minutes between swapping shifts.

This week will officially be the beginning of my USA Adventure, hence this blog will officially become a travel blog rather than one of those ‘today I ate cereal for breakfast and then I went Shopping but I was broke so I couldn’t buy anything so I went to watch a move blah blah blah blah blah’ blogs.

Oooo… a TRAVEL BLOG. Sounds so pro. Heh. Stay tuned for more.
