The Cigar Box & The Princess Necklace

Look what came in the mail! :D

My beautiful vintage cigar box and Princess necklace. Hee. Both from Seam Sew Swell. The cigar box was only USD5 and the necklace USD17. I reckon they are worth it. The seller fixed a handle for the cigar box so it can be used as a purse but I don’t think I’ll be carrying it around, too fragile! The inside of the box is lovely, with an oval shaped mirror on one side and lined with a beautiful blue patterned cloth (right picture) on the other. I’m gonna keep all my necklaces in this box (which is not many so there should be enough space).

Also from the store was this black vintage polaroid camera, it was only USD17! Of course I wanted it too but it was sold already. Boo. Maybe next time, eh?

Spring Cleaning & Dancing

As most of you know I’ll be heading to the US for the whole of next year, hence cleaning/sorting my crap was high on my to-do list. After 4 hours of digging, sorting and folding… all I can say is…

JESUS CHRIST, I HAVE A LOT OF SHIT!

The main reason for the spring clean was to sort out clothes I’d either donate or sell at taketwomarket. After the market, I’d still have to sort what’s leftover from the market and what I can bring to the US (as you know there’s the annoying baggage limit issue).

Just look at the amount of clothes I eliminated from my wardrobe! That many hangers leftover. And guess what? My wardrobe’s still full. Uh huh, it was congested before. Now it’s full.

Other than my obvious sins of sloth-ing and gluttony, shopping has made it to the top three now.

I think So You Think You Can Dance is one of those rare reality tv shows that becomes better and better each season, which is quite the opposite of most reality tv shows. Well, most reality tv shows are shit to begin with anyways. I am currently addicted to Duffy’s Mercy and Mirah’s The Garden, all thanks to SYTYCD. I know it’s been ages since it wrapped in the US, but the finale just aired here this week okay!

No doubt, Tabitha and Napoleon are my favourite cheorographers. Their works were simply amazing. One of my favourite’s Twitch and Chelsie’s routine. Watch it here.

My favourite dancers are KATEE, Twitch and Joshua. I think Katee should have won.

Absolute favourite routine of the season is Mia Michael’s (another genius chereographer) comtemporary routine with Twitch and Katee. Right at its ass, Sonia’s jazz routine with Courtney and Mark comes a close second. I think both routines were good chereographing, dancing and music all wrapped into one, which made them super. That’s what entertainment’s about!

The Purple Dress

Halfway through the year, I remembered fashion magazines telling me that dark purple will be the next big thing. I wasn’t a fan of purple things so I didn’t really put much thought about it.

But since I bought a dark purple colour basic tank top from Cotton On, I have become very fond of this colour. There’s just something about it. The richness of the colour is intriguing.

And now, I have my own dark purple piece other than that basic tank top (though the colour doesn’t really show in the picture).

Yay!

Skydiving on Valentine’s Day

This valentine’s day, sub rosa, her friend Jeremy and I went on a spontaneous trip to Nagambie for a skydive. It has always been something I wanted to do before I die so why not? And since our ’significant other’ wasn’t in the same country as us to have a lovey dovey valentine’s day (which I doubt neither of us would prefer, we’re not really the lovey dovey kind you see), skydiving it was!

We were all first timers so it had to be a tandem jump. Having the biggest wedgie and being strapped onto some old guy (for my case) you’ve just met half an hour ago isn’t exactly comfortable but hey, skydiving is about getting out of your comfort zone. Being afraid of heights, I think I handled the situation pretty well, although I have a feeling sub rosa would beg to differ *ahem ahem*). And no, the experience didn’t cure my phobia of heights.

Overall the experience was very fulfilling, I’d say definitely worth that swipe of my credit card. It’s not something that can be re-told in words, it’s more of a moment you’d have to experience yourself. So why not you have a go yourself?

I dare you.

Now, whenever I need to go to a ‘happy place’, I’d close my eyes and relive those few seconds of free falling through the beautiful sunny sky of Nagambie.

ah, my happy place.

Another blog…!?

Alright, I know I haven’t had the best record for keeping a blog. I tend to get restless or bored with my blog address and change it, or shift around from blogger to xanga and back to blogger again.

And, surprise surprise, here I am with a brand spanking new blog.

Thus I’m not calling this my blog. It is my site. :D
